About Me

Welcome!

Hello, I'm Annie. Nice to meet you, and welcome to my blog, Smarter Not Harder! I'm hoping to use this Blog as a place where I share my favorite technology tips and tricks with you. Using my experience working in IT, I want to share the things I've learned and use daily that help me save time and energy. I want to help you find ways to have the technology work for you, let's work smarter, not harder!

I’m a college graduate with an associate's Degree in Business from Phoenix Community College. I am currently enrolled at the University of Arizona Global Campus, pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Software Technology. I have spent the majority of my professional career working in Healthcare IT. I have worked for small companies with less than 75 employees to large Fortune 500 companies with employees globally, and both nonprofits and corporations. I have held positions as both an individual contributor and in leadership. I am always interested in learning something new and expanding my skills, and I've used that drive to help me move up from my first fulltime position as an Executive Assistant over 15 years ago.

My first IT position was as an Electronic Health Record Administrator. In this role, I managed the development, maintenance, and implementation of an Electronic Health Record system (EHR). I currently work for a major healthcare provider as a Systems Analyst. In this role, I help manage our IT vendors and oversee and support the services they provide our healthcare plan members. I enjoy this role because it helps me leverage my people skills and technical skills, and I get to collaborate with different kinds of teams. Working in IT for the Healthcare industry is a passion of mine, and I enjoy building reports and dashboards. Collaborating with healthcare providers and program managers, I have seen the positive impacts of healthcare on a community. As I continue my college education, I’m interested in furthering my career and pursuing a new role in data and analytics with my same employer.
